It’s small enough to fit in your pocket but powerful enough to capture beautiful footage on the trail.

Floe Lake is one of those hikes that steals your heart.

🌅 Sunrise here is absolutely magical…golden light hitting the peaks, still water, total peace. It’s a bit of a grind to get up there, but wow, is it ever worth it.

📈 Stats:
Distance: 21 km return
Elevation gain: 1,100 m
Trail type: Out & back
Time: 6–9 hrs
Permit needed for overnight camping

Far away from the craziness of Larch Madness, I found this magical gem south of Golden. Every time I’m searching for tranquility mixed with adventure, I head to this town and, once again, it did not disappoint. 🍂🍁

Access to the trail includes several kilometres on a well-maintained Forest Service Road.

📍Diana Lake is a moderate 12.4 km round-trip hike with about 733 m of elevation gain. Once you break through the forest, you’ll find alpine meadows, golden larches, and a turquoise lake framed by jagged peaks. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can push on another 8 km to The Judge (2,700 m), the peak that towers above the lake with panoramic views. The last scramble is strenuous, so hiking poles for the way down and shoes with good grip are a must!

Please always do your research before heading into the backcountry, bring the 10 essentials, download maps, and follow Leave No Trace. Pack out what you pack in, stay on the trail, respect wildlife, and leave things as you find them so everyone can enjoy this special place.
